Dear Sister
We left New Orleans on the 9th and arrived here late last night.  This slow tub has been nearly ten days in making six day trip and has rolled abut like a log the whole time. I have been very seasick the whole voyage and am yet suffering acutely fro the affects of it.  We are bound up to City Point and sail immediately.  All of the Corps that arrived two or three days ago were sent to Washington but will join us soon before Petersburgh.
The water-boat along side is about leaving.  Direct to "Virginia" instead of to "West Mississippi" as last.
